InnoFoodLabs Study Tour 2026

Exploring Organic Innovation in the Czech Republic

Join us for the first InnoFoodLabs Study Tour and experience organic innovation in practice.

Over three days (22nd to 24th of June 2026), you will explore innovative approaches to local organic food systems, meet practitioners from the region, and exchange experiences with stakeholders from across Europe.

The Study Tour offers you a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the InnoFoodLabs Living Labs, visit farms and partner organisations, and discuss practical solutions for strengthening regional organic value chains.

Event details

When? 22 June, 12:20 – 24 June, 13:30

Where? České Budějovice (dt. Budweis), Czech Republic

Travel: All participants are requested to stay overnight in České Budějovice. A shuttle will be organised for all transfers.

Costs: The Study Tour is free of charge, travel costs and accommodation must be covered by participants themselves.

Who is participating and organizing the event? The Study Tour is for Consortium and CoP members, organized by the CoP-Team and the Green Basket – Czech Living Lab.

Languages: The event will be bilingual, in Czech and in English.

Living Lab Spotlight: Zelený košík (Green Basket)

The study tour will focus on Living Lab 6 – Zelený košík, a cooperative of organic and social enterprises founded in 2016 in South-West Czech Republic.

The cooperative supplies organic fruit and vegetables to local customers and public kitchens and is currently developing innovative solutions to strengthen regional organic food systems.

Key innovation topics include:

Development of new processing methods for potatoes to meet the needs of public kitchens

Testing processing lines for peeled and cut potatoes with minimal water use and without preservatives

Optimising logistics and storage processes for small-scale processing

• Integrating socially disadvantaged people into the cooperative’s activities and improving working conditions

During the study tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the cooperative, learn about its work first-hand, and discuss challenges and solutions directly with the people involved.
